Vineyard Tours and wine tastings

Staying Safe

As is everyone else, we are keeping informed of developments as the situation regarding Covid-19 continues to evolve. Our heart goes out those who have been affected by the virus and all our friends and supporters who face so much uncertainty.

We have been rigorously following the recommendations of Public Health England and as ever our focus is always on exceptional levels of hygiene across all areas of the business. Fortunately, we have had no instances of anyone working at the vineyard or winery at Chet Valley contracting the virus.

However, after considering the new government updated guidelines, Chet and Waveney Valley Vineyard has made the following decision to minimise impact on our customers and team:

All public events at the vineyard and winery are suspended for an indefinite period.

Any upcoming Tours & Tastings will be postponed and if you have a booking with us, your booking can be rescheduled for another date within the next 12 months. Tour and experience vouchers can still be purchased for redemption at a later date.

For those that have gift vouchers that are nearing expiry, please contact us so that we can ensure you are able to visit later in the year.

Trade sales are unaffected.

Our priority at this time is to ensure that we can continue to produce the highest quality wine and keep our warehouse and website up-and-running to deliver to our customers.

Our retail team continue to be available to assist with wine orders, wine club and vine leasing advice and general enquiries via phone, email or the Chet Valley Vineyard website. You're welcome to collect bottles and cases to keep your spirits up. Please call ahead and we can prepare your order. You can still enjoy a glass of Chet Valley wine in the comfort of your own home or garden as we are offering our full mail order service – with free delivery on 6 or more bottles. Our full range of wines are available to order online at www.chetvineyard.co.uk/shop (wines for delivery can be mixed cases or single wine cases)

We are all in this together and feel confident that our customers may need a little sparkle in their lives from time-to-time to see them through.

For those who love sitting on our lovely balcony overlooking the vineyards we will be posting regular photos and updates on our Chet Valley Facebook page and Instagram feeds. So you will be able to watch as the vineyard springs into life with the warmer weather and longer days. The buds are already beginning to swell, and our fingers are crossed that a late frost won’t stop the emerging shoots in their tracks. The daffodils are starting to fade now, but the Apricot trees are flowering and the Pink Campion will be out soon.

We hope that all our friends and customers stay well throughout these extremely difficult times, and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

With love and best wishes from the Hemmant family and the Chet Valley team.

Winemakers tour and tasting £20

This very popular tour has limited places and so must be booked in advance. It is led by winemaker John Hemmant and his team (subject to availability) who was one of the first to plant a vineyard in Norfolk and produce award winning wines back in the 1990s. With his background in chemistry, farming and the arts he will inspire you with stories of his experiences making wine in Norfolk and his knowledge from his studies and travels to wine regions abroad both in the New and Old worlds. This fantastic tour includes a taste of up to 5 delicious wines both still and sparkling from Chet Vineyard accompanied by tasty cheese and charcuterie.

The tour starts at the Chet tasting room and then quickly moves into the vineyard where you will walk amongst the vines for an interactive tour with John who encourages questions.
